Al-Hilal have reportedly made an enquiry for goalkeeper Ederson from Manchester City as they bid to sign a top-class goalkeeper.
According to Fred Caldeira on YouTube, from TNT Sports, the Saudi side made an approach for Ederson.
Al-Hilal will be hoping to match Al-Nassr, who reportedly made an approach for Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson according to Foot Mercato although it seems unlikely the Brazilian goalkeeper will move to the Saudi side.
Ederson has been at City since the summer of 2017 when the Etihad side signed the goalkeeper from Benfica for a fee in the region of £35 million.
The goalkeeper has been influential in the way that City plays with his long raking passes and his ability to play the ball through the thirds with pinpoint accuracy.
Would he make the move?
The goalkeeper has won multiple Premier League titles, as well as domestic cups, and completed the clean sweep of trophies when City won the UEFA Champions League against Inter Milan.
It could be possible that Ederson, 30, may well feel he has achieved all he can in the Premier League and may want to try something new and the Saudi Pro League could provide just that.
According to the video from Caldeira, the negotiations have not progressed with either City or the goalkeeper’s entourage.
The Saudi side have been searching for a goalkeeper this summer but will now seemingly need to move onto different targets as a result of the failed chase for Ederson and Alisson, the options are few and far between.
Yassine Bono, of Sevilla, is reportedly closing in on a move to the Saudi side which would seemingly mean their search for a new number-one goalkeeper may well be coming to an end soon.
