Al-Hilal are preparing a stunning double swoop to land Neymar and Marco Verratti from Paris Saint Germain in a bid to win the Saudi Pro League title this season.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who claim that the pair are being pushed towards the exit door at the French giants as PSG are embarking on a new era with the aim of selling Neymar and Kylian Mbappe this summer to sign a new front three.
A front three that may not be as good as the previous three, but one that will fight and show the willingness to be at the French club is desired.
According to the report, new PSG boss Luis Enrique summoned the pair to his offices before telling them both, in no uncertain terms, that neither of them were part of his plans and that they are both free to leave the club.
For Neymar, Al-Hilal and PSG have reportedly opened negotiations to try and reach a ‘compromise’ according to RMC, although it is said that the former Barcelona winger would prefer to stay in Europe.
Verratti’s situation is ‘a little different’
According to the same report, the situation of the Italian midfielder is a bit different. The Italian midfielder has been in talks with Al-Hilal for the last few weeks and in particular the club’s president Fahd Bin Nafel.
Al-Ahli were also in the running for Verratti but they are understood to be taking a step back which will allow Al-Hilal to move forward if they so wish, although there remains no agreement between the two clubs for the midfielder’s signature.
The negotiations are still reportedly ‘on track’ but the Saudi will have to increase their offer for the former Pescara midfielder after seeing their €45 million offer rejected with the French giants asking for a lot more for the 30-year-old.
