Al-Hilal have reportedly moved on to different targets after seeing their pursuit of French star Kylian Mbappe fail, and according to reports from Italy, they have seen an offer for their next striker target rejected.
According to a report from Italian outlet Il Mattino (via TMW), Al-Hilal have seen a €130 million offer for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen rejected by the Italian champions.
The report claims that the offer was immediately rejected and that the Nigerian forward is actually close to signing a new contract with the Italian side and that even if the forward wanted to leave, which he seemingly doesn’t, Aurelio de Laurentiis would refute the demand as he wants to keep the 24-year-old at the club.
Osimhen was superb for Napoli last season as he scored 26 goals in just 32 Serie A games in an astonishing season as Napoli won the Scudetto for the first time in over 30 years.
Osimhen has also been linked with PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea, but it seems the forward is staying put in Naples this summer.
Osimhen valuation revealed
According to the same report from the Italian outlet, and later mentioned by Ben Jacobs in a tweet, Napoli value the Nigerian at €200 million, and following Al-Hilal’s offer for Mbappe, have raised their valuation of the forward to throw off interested parties.
The preference of the Nigerian international, according to Jacobs, is to remain in Europe and talks are progressing to extend his contract at the club, who only bought Osimhen from Lille for a reported fee of €81 million in 2020 according to the BBC.
It comes after the Saudi side saw their offer for Kylian Mbappe, which was a fee in the region of £250 million, accepted by PSG before the Frenchman turned down the move to the Pro League according to Jacobs’ tweet on the situation.
