Brazilian forward Neymar has been speaking about his decision to make the move to Al-Hilal and also the influence that Cristiano Ronaldo has made on the division itself.
The former Barcelona forward, who joined Paris Saint Germain back in 2017 from the Spanish giants, completed his move this week to the Saudi side Al-Hilal for a fee in the region of £77 million.
The winger is set to earn around £138 million a season according to TalkSport.
As well as this, the winger will earn some ludicrous benefits whilst he is playing at the Saudi Arabian side.
Neymar is expected to be the star man in the Al-Hilal setup and will play up front alongside Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ruben Neves will be supplying the passes to the Brazilian and you would expect Neymar to bag 20-30 goals in his first season at the club.
Ronaldo started the revolution
Neymar was keen to heap praise on Ronaldo’s influence over the league and the trailblazer that the Portuguese forward was to the league in the Middle East.
“I believe Cristiano Ronaldo started all of this and everybody called him ‘crazy’,” Neymar said according to Ben Jacobs. “Today you see the league grow more and more.
“It is exciting. Meeting top-quality players on the other teams thrills you, and motivates you to play even better.
“And it’s a given when you face Ronaldo, (Karim) Benzema, or (Roberto) Firmino that the excitement is even greater. So I am happy to join this league.”
The Brazilian will do battle with Ronaldo, Benzema, and Firmino in what promises to be an exciting league season with the hopes that all four of these sides will be involved in the title race this summer.
The acquisition of Neymar will propel the Saudi side into the title race this season.
