Neymar could reportedly make his long-awaited debut for Al-Hilal against Al-Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.
The Brazilian had joined Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germainin in a sensational £77.4 million deal last month, signing a two-year contract.
However, the 31-year-old arrived in Saudi Arabia with an injury that he sustained during his time in France according to several reports.
As a result, his debut has been delayed after missing out on all of Al-Hilal’s opening games in the Saudi Pro League so far this season.
The former Barcelona man made his return for Brazil during the international break and scored twice against Bolivia to surpass Pele and become his country’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals.
With club football resuming on Friday, Neymar returned to Al-Hilal’s training and could be part of their lineup against Al-Riyadh.
Al-Hilal have had a bright start and recently defeated arch-rivals Al-Ittihad in a sensational 4-3 comeback victory over two weeks ago.
Head coach Jorge Jesus reportedly denied Neymar the opportunity to get a few minutes during that game as he felt the latter was not fully fit yet.
His expected return could be a huge boost for Jesus’ side, who are already in red-hot form after signing a number of world-class players in the summer transfer window.
The record Asian champions acquired Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinković-Savić, Malcom of Brazil, Rúben Neves, Morocco’s Yassine Bounou, and Aleksandar Mitrovic from Fulham.
They are also yet to lose a game this campaign as Al-Hilal’s unbeaten run saw the Blues pick up 13 points from five games.
