Former Bayern and Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has refused to comment on a rumoured offer from Al-Hilal to become their chief executive.
Oliver Kahn recently made a visit to Saudi Arabia and was at Al-Hilal’s training ground last month before their game against Al-Riyadh.
His presence in the Middle East sparked rumours of a potential move to the Saudi Pro League with the 54-year-old reportedly being offered a CEO role.
When asked, the former Bayern Munich shot-stopper didn’t reveal his stance on the matter but hasn’t ruled out the possibility.
He also briefly discussed the Saudi Pro League’s growth and expects the competition to become bigger in the years to come.
“Signing big names was an attention-grabbing start,” Kahn told TZ. “Now it is important to further professionalize the club and league in all areas.
“There is still a lot of catching up to do. There is still a lot of potential in terms of fan experience, infrastructure, training our own players and also in building management capacity.
“There is still a long way to go. In any case, the belief in success is huge among the people involved. I have a lot of fans in the region, which of course makes me happy.
“There are a few options that I’m currently looking at from a business perspective. This also includes the development of football in Saudi Arabia.
“However, I would generally like to get an impression of the development of football in different countries, such as India or the USA. What the future will bring remains to be seen.
“Chief executive role? I do not comment on such speculations,” he added.
