Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic looks set to finalise his move to Al-Hilal after weeks if not months of tough negotiations, it now finally seems the Serbian forward will move to the Saudi giants leaving Marco Silva’s Fulham behind.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi side are set to complete the deal imminently with Fulham set to give the final greenlight before the player travels for a medical.
The Serbian forward agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal back in July and he is now just waiting for the West London side to give the forward permission to complete the deal in the next few hours, according to Romano.
This comes as a huge blow for Silva and the Cottagers who were hoping to build on their solid season in the Premier League but the loss of the former Newcastle forward, who scored 14 Premier League goals for Fulham, will be a huge loss.
Long-running saga finally coming to an end
By the looks of it, one of the longest-running sagas in the Summer transfer window is set to come to an end.
The West London side were seemingly refusing to agree to the terms on offer by the Saudi side but it seems Mitrovic has always been keen on moving to the Saudi giants.
The forward, who made his mark in the Premier League with his aggressive style, smoothed out the rough patches when he was at Fulham.
For everyone involved, there may well be a palpable sense of relief that this deal is now close to being completed. According to Sky Sports back in July, after Fulham valued the striker at £52 million, Mitrovic told his family that he would never play for Fulham again.
It is unclear what the fee for the forward is but Al-Hilal will be pleased about just how keen the Serbian is to play for them.
