Joao Felix has reportedly taken a step closer to making a shock move to Al-Hilal with the Portuguese forward reportedly agreeing personal terms with the Saudi side.
According to the Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Felix has an agreement on personal terms with the Saudi heavyweights with just the agreement between the clubs missing before the forward can complete the shock move to the Middle Eastern side.
The current Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus was asked on Saturday whether a player on the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe could make the move to the Middle East, and his answer seemed an interesting one.
“Ronaldo, Benzema… We are in the process of signing someone of that level.” Well, according to the Portuguese outlet, it was Félix who the former Sporting Lisbon and Benfica manager was referring to.
Felix is coming off the back of a rather unsuccessful loan spell with Premier League side Chelsea, it seems like a good move for the Saudi side to be able to lure a forward of Felix’s quality to the Middle East.
The forward dreams of Barcelona
According to a Fabrizio Romano exclusive, Felix has spoken about his dream of moving to Camp Nou, but that seems unlikely as things stand so may well have to settle on the Saudi Pro League.
Al-Hilal have been unsuccessful this summer in trying to lure a world-class forward to the Saudi side. They tried and were initially successful with a £259 million offer for Kylian Mbappe before, according to Romano, he rejected the move.
They also launched two offers, both unsuccessful, for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, with the latest offer for the forward reportedly €140 million according to Il Mattino.
They may also be about to miss out on Marco Verratti with the midfielder set to perform a U-turn and stay in France, so pulling off the signing of Felix would be a huge statement of intent for Jesus’ side.
