Al-Hilal have received a huge blow in the race for the Italian midfielder Marco Verratti after it has emerged another side have entered the race for the midfielder.
According to Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X, Qatari side Al Arabi SC are set to submit an official offer for the Italian midfielder in what is a huge blow for Jorge Jesus’ side.
Romano also claims that negotiations that would see the midfielder move to Qatar are entering crucial stages soon.
This would be a huge blow for Al-Hilal, following the arrival of Brazilian forward Neymar, the Saudi side are still looking to add to their squad and the Italian midfielder was seen as the ideal recruit.

Verratti set to reject Saudi move
The Italian midfielder reportedly agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal and also Al-Ahli, if L’Equipe are to be believed.
It now seems the midfielder will be moving to Qatar this summer in what is a huge blow for both Saudi sides who were interested in the PSG midfielder.
Bizarrely, Verratti, alongside Mbappe who was also linked with a move way are said to be one of the candidates to take over the PSG captaincy.
However, it seems likely that Marquinhos, who has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, will carry as on as the French side’s captain.
Al-Ahli who have been linked with Verratti reportedly never opened contract talks with the 30-year-old according to Romano, so it seems it’s either Al-Ahli or Al Arabi SC and it seems the midfielder is now edging closer to the Qatari side.
