Al-Hilal have made a new offer for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, as a £46 million offer has been lodged by the Saudi side.
The Telegraph, which has been backed up by a multitude of English sources, has claimed that the Saudi side has lodged a bid for the Serbian striker.
The offer, believed to be £46 million, is much closer to the valuation set by the Cottagers and it seems likely that the West London side will accept it.
The Serbian striker, 28, looked set to remain at Craven Cottage after the Saudi side had tried but failed to sign the former Newcastle United forward.
‘Huge optimism deal will be done’
According to a Tweet from Ben Jacobs, who backs up that the Saudi side have made an offer for the forward. There is ‘optimism’ from Al-Hilal that a deal will finally be completed for the forward.
Al-Hilal, who recently announced the stunning signing of Neymar for around £86 million, are still seemingly in the market for a striker despite their recent extravagant spending on the Brazilian forward.
After “lengthy negotiations” with the English club, there is now hope a deal can be done according to Jacobs.
This would be a huge boost for the Saudi side who have been looking for a striker to play alongside Neymar.
With Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic Savic in the team, Mitrovic may well receive the service that a striker of his quality deserves.
The former Newcastle forward scored 14 goals in the Premier League before an astonishing 43 goals in 46 EFL Championship games.
The Serbian forward would no doubt be a huge success for the Saudi side who surely must consider themselves favourites for the title.
Following the fantastic acquisition of Neymar and with the Serbian forward potentially joining, too, they must feel like they should be the team to beat this season.
