Al-Hilal are reportedly set to announce the signing of Neymar today after the forward agreed a deal with the Saudi side which is set be announced imminently.

The forward is set to join the Saudi side for a fee in the region of £86 million and will complete the move today according to Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade.

The winger had his medical and signed his contract in Paris yesterday and could well be confirmed as a new Al-Hilal player today.

The Brazilian was surplus to requirements at the Parisian side and was put among the players that were not deemed good enough for the Parisian side. This list included Kylian Mbappe, but the forward now seems willing to sign a new contract in Paris according to Fabrizio Romano.

But for Neymar, his time in Paris seems over, and after he made the move from Barcelona back in 2017, his time in the French capital can only be deemed a failure.

This is mainly due to the £200 million fee that the Brazilian winger cost when he joined from Barcelona.

Would he be a success in the Middle East?

Neymar would immediately be elevated alongside Cristiano Ronaldo to being one of the best and most high-profile attacking players.

The forward will line up alongside Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic Savic in the Al-Hilal team and the forward will be hoping that the services will be high in quality considering the quality of the midfielders playing behind him.

Despite the injury issues that the winger has had in recent years, his output in one of Europe’s top 5 leagues remains high.

Just last season, Neymar scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in Ligue 1, this is despite starting just 18 league games (he featured in 20 overall).

There is no doubt the Brazilian will be a success and surely makes Al-Hilal favourites for the league title.
