Paris Saint Germain are reportedly unwilling to give the green light for Al-Hilal to complete the signing of Italian midfielder Marco Verratti, with reports stating that the fee on offer simply isn’t enough for the French giants.
According to a tweet from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Al-Hilal have not been given the green light for the transfer of the former Pescara midfielder. The Italian midfielder has also already given the green light for the move to the Saudi side with a three-year contract already being agreed but the deal between the two clubs is stalling.
Al-Hilal reportedly made a €30 million offer for the midfielder according to the same tweet from Romano, but it seems the Parisian outfit are unwilling to let the midfielder go at that reported price.
Political tension stopping deal
This comes after another Italian journalist, this time Alfredo Pedulla, reported that the Parisian side were demanding €80 million for the 30-year-old midfielder.
As well as this, Pedulla also claimed that the figure demanded was a lot higher than what they actually wanted for the Italian midfielder. This was reportedly due to the political tension surrounding the two owners of the club, it meant that PSG were seemingly unwilling to sell to the Saudi side.
Whether the deal will happen or not, it seems likely that the Italian midfielder will make the move to the Saudi League no matter what, with another Saudi side set to rival Al-Hilal for the midfielder, with Al-Ahli reportedly ready to hijack the move according to L’Equipe.
It’s turning out to be a frustrating transfer window for Al-Hilal as both of their big-money moves for strikers with Kylian Mbappe and Victor Osimhen drawing interest from the Saudi side, but with no luck as of yet when it comes to signing either player.
It now seems their number one midfield target may well be about to make the move to their Saudi rivals Al-Ahli as their summer frustrations continue.
