Al-Hilal head coach Jorge Jesus has revealed that their new star forward is suffering from an injury currently, so he is unable to start training for the Saudi side.
After they announced the signing of the Brazilian forward this week, Jorge Jesus, the current head coach of the Saudi side, has revealed that Neymar is struggling with an injury that he picked up during his final days at Paris Saint Germain.
The 31-year-old joined the Saudi side this week for a fee in the region of £77 million according to the BBC.
The winger was told he wasn’t part of Luis Enrique’s plans at PSG and was made to train with the players who were made available for transfer.
The winger was paraded onto the pitch last night and it is clear the former Barcelona man will be the club’s biggest star but it may be a little while before we see the Brazilian star on the pitch for the Saudi side.
Favourites for the title?
The question that will remain is are the Saudi side favourites for the Pro League title?
After the signing of Neymar and the signing of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who completed his move to the Saudi side this weekend, it would seem likely that Al-Hilal will be right up there trying to compete for the league title.
Al-Ittihad look to be a formidable force this season, whereas Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad’s biggest competitors for the title last season, may well be a fading force, this is following their back-to-back league defeats to kick off the new season.
Al-Hilal might sense an opportunity to strike whilst they can with Al-Nassr potentially fading away, it would be a chance for a Neymar-inspired side to battle for the league title.
With Ruben Neves and Mitrovic amongst the players they have bought in, it’s a chance for the Saudi giants to fight for the Pro League crown.
