Al-Hilal have reportedly beaten competition from Bayern Munich and are set to sign Sevilla and Morocco shot-stopper Yassine Bounou.
Bounou has been the subject of interest in recent weeks with a number of European clubs inquiring about the Moroccan’s availability.
Bayern Munich were the latest to pursue the 32-year-old following the departure of Yann Sommer and Manuel Neuer’s extended period on the sidelines.
Sevilla have already declared Bonou’s price tag to be in the region of £20 million, which resulted in Bayern pulling out of the deal but it seems the Europa League champions have now found new suitors.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Al-Hilal have reached an agreement with Sevilla after submitting a bid believed to be higher than the latter’s valuation.
Multiple sources have also confirmed that Bounou will sign a three-year contract with Al-Hilal after their UEFA Super Cup clash with Manchester City.
The shot-stopper has been a central pillar of Sevilla’s success in recent years after joining them from Girona in the summer of 2019.
In total, Bonou has made 141 appearances for Sevilla guiding them Sevilla to two Europa League titles while keeping an impressive tally of 58 clean sheets.
His reported departure could make him Al-Hilal’s sixth summer signing after securing deals for Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinković-Savić, Malcom, Rúben Neves, and Neymar.
Al-Hilal are also said to be keeping tabs on Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne and are close to finalising a £46 million move for Fulham centre-forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.
